Monthly Meeting Minutes
January 14, 2013
The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM
Mohawk Valley BassCasters Meeting Minutes from December 10, 2012: Read and Accepted.
Treasurers Report for January 2013: Read and Accepted.
Connecticut Nation Report for December 2012:
• Bass Master is back for its 30th on TV.
• Power Pole has signed on again as a sponsor.
• Dave Santos is stepping as conservation rep and Dean Rustic will be taking his place.
• 11/9/13 will be the Christmas banquet at the chowder pot in Hartford.
• They are looking for volunteers for the boat show in Hartford on Jan. 24-27. Feb 15-17 at the eastern sportsman.
• March 2nd membership drive at Cabelas in East Hartford.

Tournament Report
• None
Old Business:
• There were several e-mails sent out over the last two weeks to do an emergency motion that the club donate $100 to the Sandy Hook foundation. This was passed and a check was sent out.
New Business:
• Armand is asking if anyone sees anything that we can use for next year’s toys for tots please buy them i.e. Santa hats, stockings, lights.
• Steve then talked to the members about not bringing the toys next year to the Plainfield location.
• Vinny was asked about the girl scouts fishing derby, Vinny stated that there has been no progress so he is considering this year a no go.
• Associate membership, Kevin stated that he needs another month to get it finalized to present.
• CT Bass Nation is holding a 26 angel tournament for the victims at Sandy Hook, Armand is running the parking and is looking for volunteers.
• LCI Ambassadors is looking for volunteers to help at the upcoming fishing shows. The times and dates as follows: Worchester 8th 12-9 9th 12-7 10th 10-5 Springfield 21st 3-9 22nd 12-8 23rd 9-7 24th 10-5.
• Kevin has volunteered to help Dean as an alternate due to the amount of work that Dean is now faced with. Kevin also mentioned that we as sportsmen need to stand together with other sportsmen and show a united front.
• A prospective member Steve was introduced to the club and was given a copy of the tournament rules and bylaws along with all finical obligations.

The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM

Connecticut Nation Report for January 2012:
• No meeting held.

Tournament Report
• Permits are in for all scheduled tournaments.
• March we will talk who will be boaters and non boaters.
Old Business:
• Tom talked about cub pack leader in Sandy Hook for fishing belt loop. Looking at September 23rd.
• Greg mentioned that there will be a life guard on duty.
• Tom stated that he has people he can contact.
• New member Steve Sanders was voted in “ all in favor”
New Business:
• Dean is looking for volunteers for the LCI at the Springfield show Feb 21-24.
• Contact Dean for details.
• Dean then introduced new prospective member Peter Gumprecht. Peter gave some information on himself and is family. Info on the club and meetings was explained to him as well as financial information.
• Armand looked into the by-laws that state a member has to be 21 years of age. He has a father and son who would like to join; son is 20, maybe changed to 18.
• Motion by Armand too change the age to 18 instead of 21. Motion was second by Kevin.
• Tom will email all members for vote and discussion at the March meeting.
• Jim B tentative date for Christmas party is Dec 13th at Nuchies is Bristol. Menu too come with pricing.

 March 11, 2013

The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM

Mohawk Valley BassCasters Meeting Minutes for February 11, 2013: Read and Accepted.

Treasurers Report for March  2013: Read and Accepted.

Connecticut  Nation Report for February 2013:

  • Candlewood looking at grass carp to control weeds.
  • Lake clean up May 18th.
  • 2 dated forms are now needed for tournaments for zebra mussels.
  • Power Pole is again a sponsor.
  • Reynolds is having a open house on March 23rd.
  • Dean spoke about the conservation report.

Tournament Report

  • 10 boaters and 10 non boaters are the count as of now.
  • Zebra mussel forms will be the same as the Nation.
  • Dean mention that maybe we should pre collect the $20 for gas money. After a brief discussion no motion was made.

Old Business

  • Peter Grumprehelt was voted into the club 13-0
  • The member then voted on the new by-laws. 12-0 to drop the raffle. 10-2 to change the age limit from 21 to 18.
  • LCI thanked everyone that helped out in the fishing shows.
  • Dean is working with the LCI for the heritage.
  • Kevin then went over the new associate membership and was talked about with the member was decided to bring up for a vote to be entered as a by-law.

New Business:

  • Kevin mention fantasy bass fishing to keep up on how the pros are doing.
  • A new Form page will be added to the web site. Armand is also trying to get casting ballots placed on the site as well.

 April 8, 2013

The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM

Mohawk Valley BassCasters Meeting Minutes for March 11, 2013: Read and Accepted.

Treasurers Report for April  2013: Read and Accepted.

Connecticut  Nation Report for March 2013:

  • Lake clean- up May 18th at the Danbury town park.
  • Tournaments are looking for volunteers to help out.
  • They did a finical audit for the nation and only found excessive shipping costs.
  • Fairfield prep is the first high school to sign up for the high school teams.
  • Looking for clubs to help out with the 26 angel tournament. A challenge was issued to have a least every club send one boater to the tournament.

Tournament Report

  • The grid for this season was then chosen by draw.
  • Our first tournament will be on candlewood it is a 7am start by permit. We will be leaving the exit 10 diner at 5:30 at will be launching at Squants.
  • Dean then reminded the group that we will be doing the weight in just like last season where Sam and Dean weight in first and then call the boats by number.
  • The members then drew numbers for the starting order.
  • The next tournament will be on May 4th at Bashan. The members then voted on a start time of 6-2. We will be meeting at the Staples parking lot. Some of the members will meet at Steve’s place and launch from there.
  • The members then drew numbers for the starting order.

Old Business

  • Peter Grumprehelt was welcomed to the club
  • The members the voted on the associate membership to be added to the by-laws. It was passed 15-1.

New Business:

  • Rich T made a motion that the club buys hamburgers and hotdogs for a lunch at Steve’s place after the Bashan tournament. Motion passed.
  • Armand then offered to look more into the shirts for the club. More of a fishing tournament style with sponsor logos.
  • August 3rd is the Mr. Bass tournament and Sam is not going to fish it so Kevin would like to step in his place. As per our by-laws he was granted that right.
