Monthly Meeting Minutes

September 10, 2012

The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM

Mohawk Valley BassCasters Meeting Minutes from August, 13 2012: Read and Accepted.

Treasurers Report for August 2012: Read and Accepted.

Connecticut Federation Nation Report for August 2012:

  • The CBFN web site is down all of the notes are being sent to the club president, if you need any information please contact Sylvia Morris or Bob Nelson.
  • Due to the fact that the web site is down apps for the two day will be e-mailed to the club reps.
  • Pairings for the two day will be held on 10/2 at the Bristol Polish club
  • The fed is looking for new committee members, along with Harry as tournament director.

Tournament Report

  • Our last tournament was on Congamond
  • Teams place 3rd place Jay and Mark, 2nd Jack and Rich B, 1st Kevin and Rich T.
  • Individuals 3rdScott, 2nd Kevin, 1st Rich B  Lunker went to Mark with 3.73
  • Next tournament will be on Quaddick, the member then drew the starting order.
  • Since the gate will not open till at least 7:30 we will be meeting at the sears parking lot at 5:30
  • Next meeting please bring dates you can not fish for next year and lakes that you would like to fish.

Old Business:

  • The canopy was purchased for $94.76 and the new scale was $225.
  • October 2nd will be the pairings at 6pm.
  • Tom is putting together information for the club of the year award and he needs any information that you might have.

New Business:

  • Elections will be held next month so this month we are having nominations.
  • Tommy has offered to stay one more year as president before retiring to the beautiful state of Vermont.
  • The following were nominations placed:

Dean –Vinny for secretary

Rich B –Jim B for VP

Morrie- Vinny for VP

Rich B – Mike for secretary

Papa Ron- Rich B for Treasure

Rich T – Dean for Tournament Dir

Gregg –Morrie for Fed Rep

Steve – Sam member at large

Kevin- Tommy for President

  • The members then talked about getting new shirts and hats for the club.

After a brief discussion there was a motion made and second that Morrie head a committee to design new shirts and hats for the club. Motion Passed.

  • Dean then mentioned to the members that he was thinking in running for conservation officer for the Fed. He just asked that if he does run for this position that he would have the support of the entire club.

October 8, 2012

The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM

Mohawk Valley BassCasters Meeting Minutes from September, 10 2012: Read and Accepted.

Treasurers Report for October  2012: Read and Accepted.

Connecticut Federation Nation Report for September 2012:

  •  The new Fed web site is now up and running.
  • Candlewood is now at a 2ft draw down and in Jan. they expect another 8ft draw down.
  • The Classic had only 30 boaters and 20 non boaters, lowest ever.
  • State team came in second place to Mass.

Tournament Report

  • Our last tournament was on Quaddick
  • Teams placed as Follows: 3rd Scott and Steve, 2nd Armond and Rich, 1st Rich T and Kevin.
  • Individuals 3rd Rich B, 2nd Morrie, and 1st Steve.
  • Our last tournament will be on Highland on Oct. 20th from 7-3 we will meet at the RT 8 parking lot at 5:30.
  • The Members then drew the starting order.

Old Business:

  • The Fed Banquet is on Nov. 10th Tom then asked the members who was going to reserve seats.
  • Toys for tots will be held on December the 8th at the Wal-Mart in Wallingford. Tom and Rich B will supply the boats to fill with toys. (This date is has been changed to the 15th)
  • Election of officers A motion was made and passed that the secretary cast one ballot for Tommy as president.
  • Before the meeting Tommy received a phone call from Jim B withdrawing his name for VP. Again a motion was made and passed that the secretary cast one ballet for Vinny as VP.
  • Another motion was made and passed that the secretary cast one ballot for the following officers: Mike Secretary, Rich B Treasure, Dean Tournament Director, Morrie Fed Rep, and Sam as member at large.
  • A new roster was then passed out  to the members to ensure all information was current.

New Business:

  • It was mentioned that there should be a penalty for not giving any notice if you can not make it to a tournament. After a brief discussion Section 4 of the bylaws states that a member can lose his membership for not participating in club functions.
  • A motion was then made and passed to send Mark a letter stating Section 4.
  • A motion was then made and passed to send Jim H, a $100 gift card to Price Chopper.
  • The members then chose the following dates and lakes for next year.

April 27th Candlewood

May 4th Bantam  (Later changed to Bashan because of availability)

June 2nd Bashan  (Later changed to Zoar because of availability)

June 29th CT River

July 13th Lilly

Aug 10th Twin

Sept 21st Gardner

Oct 12th Winchester

Alt lakes are: Zoar and Pachaug

  • A Motion was made and passed that we would not have a night tournament this year.

Tournament Report

  • Our last tournament was on Highland.
  • Team’s placed as follows: 3rd Kevin and Steve 2nd Mike and Scott,1st Dave and Sam.
  • Individuals placed 3rd Mike, 2nd Dave, and 1st Sam.
  • Congrats to Sam for winning this year’s trail.

Old Business:

  • Next year’s lakes have changed: May 4th Bantam is now Bashen June 2nd is now Zoar.
  • Toys for tots has been moved to Dec 15th.
  • Christmas party will be on Dec 8th at 5:30 at J Timothy’s, cash is due at the door.
  • Vinny has looked at some dates for the girl scouts fishing derby. He did state that May 11 may work but will report back to the members.
  • A motion was made and passed that all members take care of their own CBFN dues this year.

New Business:

  • Motion was and passed that Kevin and Rich T form a subcommittee for the Associate membership.
  • Dues is due at the end of December must be paid in full.
  • Motion was made and passed that every member donates $5 for the Jim Rustic fund. This will be for a family LCI reregistration.

December 10, 2012

The Meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM

Mohawk Valley BassCasters Meeting Minutes from November 12, 2012: Read and Accepted.

Treasurers Report for December 2012: Read and Accepted.

Connecticut Federation Nation Report for November 2012:

  • Nationals will be held in Alabama.
  • Zebra mussels are found in lilly on docks that were pulled, still uncertain if they are in zoar.
  • Ron Fisk is looking to get some high school teams started.
  • Ct bass federation is no longer it’s just CT bass nation.

Tournament Report

  • Dean has asked that we form a banquet committee to help the tournament director.
  • April meeting we will do the grid until then think about who is a boater and nonboater.

Old Business:

  • Associate membership was talked about with Kevin and Rich T. Kevin then went over some of the points and him and Rich thought the membership should have. After a brief discussion the membership decided to table the associate membership for this meeting.
  • Toys for tots will be on December 15th at the Wallingford Wal-Mart, Armand will send out directions to the members.

New Business:

  • A new roster was passed out and will be sent to Armand to post on the new web site.
